Estibaliz Amorrortu <eamorror@fil.deusto.es> is a
professor in the Department of Basque Philology at the University of Deusto,
Bilbao. Her primary research interests include Basque sociolinguistics, language
contact, and discourse analysis. She has just published Basque
Sociolinguistics: Language, Society and Culture (Center for Basque Studies,
University of Nevada, Reno, 2003)
Jorge Schmidt <yoryi@caribe.net>is a professor in the department of Political
Science, University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez. He has done research on the
politics of educational language policies.
G. Richard Tucker <grtucker@andrew.cmu.edu>, head of Modern Languages at
Carnegie-Mellon University, is a world-renown expert in language education and
language planning, is the author of over 190 articles.
